Vaasa City Orchestra starts the fall by being the competition orchestra in the IX International Jorma Panula Conducting Competition together with Jyväskylä Sinfonia. 20 international competitors compete for the 11,000 euro prize. International jury chaired by Maestro Jorma Panula. Soloists during the week, Iris Candelaria, soprano, Luke Terrence Scott, baritone and Tami Pohjola, violin. Commissioned work by Jukka Tiensuu, FUNFARONE, Divertimento for Orchestra.
